This group has been formed to lobby for the sustainable use of water, on behalf of the community, in the greater Gingin area.

This need is in the absence of any Landcare or other Natural Resource Management groups operating at the local level in Gingin.

The Group will identify local issues which could benefit from the large amount of funding that is filtering down through the various Government agencies to help communities deal with the multitude of changes that are and will continue to occur as a result of the changing climate.  Where appropriate, funds will be applied for and managed via the Group.

The primary goal for 2011/2012 is to build the largest possible membership base which will reflect the concern of the entire community.The release by the Dept of Water of the Gingin Groundwater Allocation Plan , for public comment , is paramount if the Community is to have any confidence that the water resources will be handled in a sustainable way as climate change bites.

This report is now 2 years overdue. GWG Inc. has a significant grant via NACC NRM group to assess the report and make a submission on behalf of the local community.
