Planning relates to the use and development of land under the provisions of the Shire of Gingin Local Planning Scheme and Shire of Gingin Local Planning Strategy.
The Planning Scheme is comprised of state and local policies and guidelines, together with a series of zoning and overlay maps. The Planning Scheme and maps can be viewed at the Shire of Gingin administration building, 7 Brockman Street Gingin, during business hours, or by clicking on the related link at left of screen.
Council’s Planning Office provides advice regarding issues in relation to town planning and planning permit application assessment for the municipality. Buildings and works in the municipality, whether residential, rural or business, may be required to be approved by Council through the Development Application Process. Council is required to assess each planning application in line with the Shire of Gingin Local Planning Scheme, the Shire of Gingin Local Planning Strategy and any other relevant government policies.
