Central Coast Wheatbelt Food & Beverage Capability Guide

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) in partnership with the Wheatbelt Development Commission (WDC) and the Northern Growth Alliance (NGA - a collaboration between the Shire of Gingin, Shire of Chittering and Shire of Dandaragan), are producing a Central Coast Wheatbelt Food & Beverage Capability Guide to be released in mid 2021.

This Guide is aimed at all Wheatbelt food and beverage producers and manufacturers in the Central Coast Wheatbelt area (the Shires of Gingin, Chittering and Dandaragan) who sell their products direct to consumers or via a retailer wholesaler.

It’s a virtually unknown fact that according the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Central Coast Wheatbelt region produces more of Western Australia’s fruit and vegetables than any other region by a significant margin including Peel, Kununurra, Harvey and the Gasgoyne. Additionally, it also produces a significant amount of beef, lamb, seafood, other meats and honey in addition to many value-add products such as wine, cheese, preserves, jams and more.

Free for all businesses to participate in, this Guide will be produced in an accessible and interactive, easy to share digital format which will ultimately link products with potential buyers.

Showcasing local food and beverage products by increasing awareness and raising the profile of our region's finest offerings - it’s a perfect opportunity for all producers to connect their product range directly with consumers and wholesalers both within and outside of the region.

The Central Coast Wheatbelt Guide is the fourth in a series of regional food and beverage guides, with successful guides having already been developed for the Mid-West and one for the Great Southern which is close to completion. There will be more regional guides to follow with the view of creating a state-wide capture of the food and beverage producers in WA.

DPIRD, WDC and the NGA are seeking to gather information from as many local producers as possible over the next couple of months (the deadline to submit is 28 February 2021 - EXTENDED FROM 30 NOV!from those who might be interested in showcasing their products.

There is NO COST to be involved and producers can be included by completing a short online form which also allows for the uploading of photos and a copy of your logo.
