Citizenship Ceremonies

The Shire of Gingin conducts a number of citizenship ceremonies for new residents every year.

Upon advice from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) that an Application for Australian Citizenship has been accepted, Shire staff will contact the applicant to arrange a citizenship ceremony. These ceremonies are generally held in March, July, and October of each year at Council meetings.  The applicant, along with their family and friends, will enjoy a professional, friendly ceremony concluded with light refreshments.

In addition to these scheduled ceremonies, the Shire of Gingin also conducts a citizenship ceremony during the annual Premier's Australia Day Active Citizenship Award event in January.

For further details please contact our Community Development Officer on 9575 5138.  Alternatively, check out the DIBP website for relevant forms, pamphlets, and other related information.
