The Shire of Gingin is pleased to offer an excellent employment opportunity for a General Hand/Lower Coastal Maintenance Officer to join our Operations & Assets team working in Gingin and the Lower Coastal area of the Shire. This position would ideally suit someone who genuinely enjoys working outdoors and enjoys horticultural pursuits.

The position is well suited to a person coming in at entry level (or who already has some experience) and is looking to develop a career in local government. This position provides an excellent range of both practical and technical skills relating to horticulture and general maintenance.

The primary role is horticultural duties including general maintenance of Council’s reticulation, parks and gardens, reserves, road verges, streets, footpaths, public open spaces, play equipment, buildings and built infrastructure. Additionally the role is required to assist periodically with the construction and maintenance of the road network within the Shire of Gingin.

This position is being offered on the basis of permanent employment within the Local Government Industry Award 2020 for 5 days per week with a salary of $59,639 plus superannuation up to 15%.
