Lancelin Foreshore Redevelopment

The redevelopment of the Lancelin Foreshore is an important community project to improve the visual amenity of the foreshore area in Lancelin. Council has taken delivery of the proposed draft plans for this exciting project which will include:

  • Major upgrades to the existing car parking adjacent to Grace Darling Park and along Cunliffe St
  • A new adjoining boardwalk and gazebo
  • Disability access to gazeebo
  • Provision of increased lawn area
  • Revegetation in the vicinity of Hopkins St
  • New footpaths throughout the area
  • Sand renourishment
  • Improved Hopkins St road surface and drainage

These plans are essentially the same as previous designs created after public consultation in previous years. The design has undergone several revisionsopover the years (given coastal erosion concerns) but with Council’s decision in 2020 to retain public access to Edward Island Point, the draft designs consequently reflect what was originally requested through public consultation.

Tenders will shortly be invited for the construction of the Lancelin Foreshore Redevelopment.
