The Shire of Gingin will move from its Restricted Burning period to Burning without a Permit effective Wednesday 18 May, as permitted under Section 18 of the Bushfire Act of 1954.
The community is urged to continue exercising caution during this transition including:
- Ensuring that your firebreaks are well maintained.
- Appropriate water supply is available for the type of burn being undertaken.
- Sufficient people are present to monitor and manage the fire.
- Neighbours are notified in advance.
- Minimise the impact of smoke on roads and/or other community members.
- Please consider still notifying DFES on 9395 9209 of your burn(s) so they can register it in their system.
- If within 3km of a State Forest or a Reserve please consider notifying Parks & Wildlife Service on 9290 6100.
