Rates Mail Out Delay

Published on Wednesday, 26 August 2020 at 3:01:00 PM

The Shire has received a number of queries over the past several days in relation to the receiving of Rates Notices by Rate Payers.

Firstly we would like to apologise for the confusion and any inconvenience caused. Our investigations have revealed that a sorting error by the printers has caused some Rates Notices at random to be sent to incorrect postal locations.

In addition, Australia Post have advised that since the beginning of the Pandemic, the post is only been delivered every second day due to a fall in letter numbers being posted.

WHERE TO FROM HERE

At this stage rate payers are not required to do anything. Your Rates Notices should be redirected to you by Australia Post. However, if you still have not received your Rates Notice by 4 September then please let us know. In the meantime, if you are concerned about the delay and wish to make a Rates payment now then you can contact our Rates team (9575 5126) and they can process this over the phone for you.

TIP PASS & PARKING PERMIT

If you have not received your Rates Notice by 1 September then Rate Payers can continue using your 2019/20 Parking Permits and Rubbish Tip pass (also contained in your Rates Mail Out). The Shire’s Rangers and Landfill Managers have been made aware of this and will accept these if presented to them. It is expected that at some point in September, every ratepayer should have received a copy of their Rates and a date will be announced when the 2020/21 Tip Pass and Parking Permit will need to be presented instead.
