PUBLIC NOTICE - ADOPTED POLICY 1.44 – REGIONAL PRICE PREFERENCE

On 19 October 2021 the Shire of Gingin adopted a regional price preference policy which applies to the following regions:

Region 1:       The area encompassed by the boundaries of the Shire of Gingin

Region 2:       The area encompassed by the boundaries of the Shires of Chittering, Dandaragan and Victoria Plains

Policy 1.44 forms part of the Shire’s Policy Manual which is viewable by clicking here. Alternatively, a copy of the policy can be obtained from the Shire’s Gingin Administration Centre or Lancelin Office upon request.

PUBLIC NOTICE - DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION 

PROPOSED ANIMAL HUSBANDRY - INTENSIVE (POULTRY FARM AND ASSOCIATED DEVELOPMENT)
ADDRESS: LOT 200 (594) SAPPERS ROAD, NILGEN

With respect to the abovementioned development application, the following summary is provided:

  • The development consists of a Free Range Poultry Farm which comprises of twelve (12) Broiler Sheds.
  • The development is accessible via Sappers Road toward the south-eastern boundary of the site.
  • The Sheds are 168m in length and 17.4m in width, spaced 35m apart with fenced free range areas to 17.5m between the sheds.
  • The development includes an Administration Building, Steel Workshop and ancillary infrastructure sheds to be constructed on the property.
  • The farm will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, during normal operations between 2 – 5 staff members will attend the site between 7:00am – 5:00pm, 7 days a week.
  • The operations manager will reside in the existing dwelling onsite.

Submissions should be lodged within 28 days from the date of this notice (by 4.00pm, 3 November 2021). Submissions in relation to this proposal should be made in writing and directed to the Chief Executive Officer either by post to the Shire of Gingin, PO Box 510, Gingin WA 6503 or by email to mail@gingin.wa.gov.au.

PUBLIC NOTICE - PROPOSED LOCAL LAW

The Shire of Gingin hereby notifies for public comment that it proposes to make the Shire of Gingin Meeting Procedures Amendment Local Law (No. 2) 2021.

The purpose of this local law is to amend the Shire of Gingin Meeting Procedures Local Law 2014.

The effect of this local law is to remove c. 5.9 Deputations from the Local Law.

A copy of the proposed local law is available fore viewing below. Alternatively, a copy can be obtained from the Shire’s Administration Centre (7 Brockman Street, Gingin) or Lancelin Office (Vins Way, Lancelin) upon request.

Written submissions from the public in relation to the proposed local law will be accepted up until 4.00pm on Friday, 22 October 2021.  Submissions must be addressed to the CEO and can be emailed to mail@gingin.wa.gov.au or posted to the Shire of Gingin, PO Box 510, Gingin WA 6503.
