The Shire of Gingin Administration Centre is an authorised Agent for the Western Australian Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure, providing a convenient range of driver and vehicle licensing services for our community.

Whether you need to renew your driver's licence, register a vehicle, transfer ownership, change your details or book a driving assessment, our friendly team is here to assist.

Please note that some specialised Department of Transport services are only available at specific Department of Transport Driver and Vehicle Services Centres. If you are unsure whether we can assist with your enquiry, please contact us before visiting.

Service Hours:

Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 3:30pm

Please note: Complex licence applications must be submitted before 2:30pm to allow sufficient processing time.

Vehicle Registration Services

We can assist with:

Vehicle registration renewals
New vehicle registrations
Transfer of vehicle ownership
Conditional registrations
Changes to vehicle details
Replacement registration papers

Please bring:

Primary and Secondary Identification - Primary & Secondary Proof of Identity
Proof of vehicle ownership (purchase receipt or transfer papers)
Vehicle inspection certificate (where required)
Completed any required DOT Forms - Licensing forms | Transport WA

Registration Number Plates

We can assist with a range of number plates, including:

State plates
District plates
Local authority plates
Retained plates

Our staff can also assist you with selecting other available plate combinations and placing an order.

Bookings

Bookings are required for:

Practical Driving Assessments (PDA)
Hazard Perception Tests (HPT)
Computerised Theory Tests (CTT)
Learner's Permit Applications
Interstate Driver's Licence Transfers
Overseas Driver's Licence Transfers

Practical Driving Assessments (PDA's) can only be booked by:

Calling the Department of Transport on 13 11 56, or
Visiting the Shire of Gingin Administration Centre.

PDA Availability: Wednesdays and Thursdays, by appointment only.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment with:

Your valid learner's permit
A registered and roadworthy vehicle
Your completed learner logbook (where required)
