Works in Progress
Weld St Bridge Replacement
Works to replace Bridge 661 over the Gingin Brook on Weld Street which began after the Easter Long Weekend and are scheduled for completion towards the end of 2026.
Main Roads are managing the project and have contracted Fulton Hogan to do the bridge works.
During the works :
- There will be a single lane closure on the bridge which will cause minor delays. Traffic lights will be manually managed by a Traffic Controller.
- The rest area to the south of the bridge will be partially closed. There will be no restrictions to the access of CU@Park Café. IGA is still accessible via Brockman St entrance.
- The footpaths on both sides of the bridge will be closed for the duration of the project. However, the footpath near the weir will remain open to ensure continued public access.
- Construction noise and dust will be generated throughout the duration of the works.
Please be assured that Main Roads and Fulton Hogan will do everything possible to minimise impacts.

Drainage Management Works
Please be advised, that side entry pit and soak well drainage works throughout the Shire will be commencing shortly.
These works are essential to improve stormwater management and reduce localised flooding ahead of the winter rains.
What to expect:
• Work crews will be operating on road verges
• Trucks and machinery present at work sites
• Minor disruptions in the immediate work areas
We kindly ask residents and road users to please be mindful of workers when driving past and adhere to all temporary signage in place.

Footpath Works - Lancelin
Please be advised that footpath works on Vins, Atkinson and Riley Streets in Lancelin are scheduled to commence on Monday 18 May and will continue for the next few weeks (weather permitting).
For the duration of these works, traffic management, signage and temporary detours will be in place.

Construction Works - Rock Way, Lancelin
Update: Delayed, work commencing 11 June 2026
Please be advised that works to construct a dedicated long-vehicle parking bay adjacent to the Wangaree Park ablution facilities, together with the relocation of the caravan dump point on Rock Way in Lancelin are scheduled to commence on May 25 2026 Thursday, 11 June 2026 and will take approximately one week to complete.
These improvements are being undertaken to enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion within the immediate area for travellers accessing the facility.
For the duration of these works, traffic management measures will be in place to ensure the safety of road users and contractors.
Please note, the Dump Point on Rock Way in Lancelin will be out of action for a couple of days as a result of the construction works.

Survey Works - Road Condition and Asset Survey Works
Please be advised that road condition and asset survey works will be taking place across our sealed road network over the coming weeks.
For the duration of these works, specialised vehicles will be travelling throughout the area to capture pavement condition data, road surface assessments, and images of road assets.
What to expect:
- Survey vehicles driving throughout the Shire
- Equipment mounted on vehicles capturing road data and images
- There will be no disruption to traffic, but please drive carefully around the survey vehicles
These surveys help us plan future maintenance and ensure our roads remain safe and well-maintained for everyone.

Fencing Works - Guilderton Foreshore
Please be advised that fencing works to replace the current post and rail fencing at the Guilderton foreshore commenced on 1 June and are expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
The current fencing is nearing its end of life and needs to be replaced; the new fencing will be the same post and rail style. There will be minimal disruption to visitors, however please be mindful of the potential hazards associated with the works and avoid the work zone.

Upcoming Works
Upcoming Drainage Works - Walker Ave & King St, Lancelin
Please be advised that upcoming drainage works on the corner of Walker Ave and King St in Lancelin are scheduled to commence within the coming weeks.
For the duration of these works, there may be temporary disruptions, including increased noise, construction traffic, and restricted access in the immediate work area. Traffic management will be in place where required.

Upcoming Works Gravel Resheeting - Sandringham Road
Residents and road users are advised that gravel resheeting works will be undertaken on Sandringham Road commencing Monday, 8 June 2026.
The works are expected to take up to two (2) weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions and operational requirements.
During this period:
- Traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works.
- Motorists should expect delays and exercise caution when travelling through the work area.
- Please observe all traffic control signage and directions from traffic controllers.
