The Shire of Gingin is delighted to announce that Woodside Energy have partnered with the Shire to solidify a strong working relationship ahead of the summer high threat period, in doing so they have provided our Community Emergency Services Manager (CESM) Evan Lawrence with a Starlink Mini (and associated subscription costs for two years) to install on the CESM Vehicle.

The provision of the Starlink Mini will ensure timely access to data and uninterrupted connectivity to ensure accurate and detailed information is able to be effectively transmitted and received during bushfire incidents.

Some other benefits include:

  • Time sensitive community warnings can be sent to residents from anywhere at any time.
  • Better mapping capability for firefighters and machinery working on the ground.
  • Ability to access up to date and detailed live weather information.
  • Enhanced communications capabilities with external agencies and metropolitan resources.

The Shire would like to thank Woodside Energy for their continued support of the Shire and community and we look forward to working together in the future.
