4 years have gone by in a flash! It's now time to carry out a major review of the Strategic Community Plan. In the near future we will be seeking community feedback. How do you imagine our community's future?

It was a warm one but what a fantastic triathlon we had this year in Gingin!

The Annual Meeting of Electors will take place on Tuesday, 16 March 2021. A copy of the Annual Report 2019/20 is now available for viewing.

The plans for this exciting project are finally available. Community members have the opportunity to provide feedback if they would like to.

This fantastic community initiative is taking form in Gingin. Once constructed, the Gingin Outdoor Activity Space will be a great asset to the Gingin community and visitors to the town site.

The Shire's Administration Centre in Gingin will be closing half an hour early on Friday, 19 February.

Although a COVID-19 lockdown has come into affect south of the Shire of Gingin, our services remain open as per usual.

The Shire of Gingin's Annual Community Funding Program will be opening very shortly!

Today residents from around the Shire of Gingin were able to enjoy several different public events including the Shire's Australia Day Picnic Breakfast where we welcomed several new Australia Citizens and awarded the 2021 WA Community Citizen of the Year Awards.

Improving the public's safety for those visiting the Off-road Vehicle Area in Lancelin is the top priority for Council. The planned extension to Beacon Rd is necessary to remove heavy vehicles from the area and needs to be undertaken promptly. Consequently the extension will go ahead.

The Shire of Gingin would like to announce the 2021 nominees for the WA Community Citizenship Awards for this Australia Day 2021.

Further safety improvements are proposed to be undertaken in Lancelin with the removal of heavy vehicles from the Off-road Vehicle Area. Given public concern over mining in the area, a series of Frequently Asked Questions & Answers has also been included.

The first week of 2021 brought some tough challenges to our communities with 2 bush fires - we'd just like to say 'thank you'.

It's the end of what has been for many, a very tumultuous year so it seems apt to pause and look back over 2020: a year like no other in living memory.

Last Friday (11 December) the Minderoo Foundation made a special donation to Gingin District High School as part of its Resilient Communities Mission. This donation totalled over $25,000 and was gladly received by the students and teachers involved in the Bush Fire Cadetship Program.

Woodridge, Sovereign Hill, Redfield Park, Oceanfarm and Seaview Park will need to put their rubbish bins out one day early this year on the 24th as opposed to the 25th.

The Shire's Administration Centre (Gingin) and Lancelin Office will close early on Friday, 4 December.

Can you assist the Shire and Lancelin Police to discover the cause of a suspicious fire at Ledge Point Lookout?

Along with the inspection of the Weir, the Shire will also be taking the opportunity to clean out the drained section whilst there is minimal water in it.

If you've noticed that the Gingin Brook has been drained down to a trickle then the reason for this is because an assessment is currently been undertaken of the Granville Weir/Pool by the Shire.

The entrance track has been upgraded and widened. More works still to come for the Off-road Vehicle Area in Lancelin.

The Granville Park Lily Pond will be removed in early 2021. However, this means that there is an exciting opportunity to redevelop the area to be a more safe, inviting and user-friendly environment.

Safety is the aim of the game with the snazzy new signs that have been installed in the Lancelin Off-road Vehicle Area this week.

The official launch for the Beach Emergency Numbers (BEN) Signs occurred today in Guilderton. This signage system will save precious seconds in the event of an emergency by allowing triple 0 callers to provide an exact location for emergency services.
