As the Incident Controller of the bush fire at the Mogumber Mission Farm that was believed to be the result of a lightning strike to a tree, the Shire of Gingin and I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to each and every one of you that gave up your valuable time to assist in the firefighting effort.
This was not an easy fire to deal with as it got into the river system which caused problems and resulted in the need for back burning operations to protect the Mission buildings and other heritage sites.
To those who attended from the metropolitan area and other local government regions, thank you for your valuable assistance as this gave our local crews a chance to have some rest.
To those that missed out on welfare, my apologies have been passed on I believe. Please also pass on the Shire of Gingin’s thanks to your families for the time they missed out on spending with you over the period you spent on the fire ground.
