The Shire of Gingin is aware that the Western Australia Police Force has undertaken an investigation relating to matters impacting one or more of the Shire of Gingin’s Councillors. We also understand that a member of the public has now been charged by police and that the matter is before the courts.
The Shire will not comment on the details of any ongoing police investigation or court proceedings. We respect the independence of WA Police and the integrity of the judicial process, and we encourage the community to do the same.
The Shire continues to willingly cooperate with the relevant authorities as required.
Our focus remains on delivering essential services, programs and projects for our community in a professional and responsible manner.
Further updates will only be provided if and when appropriate, and in accordance with legal and governance requirements.
