The Shire of Gingin hereby confirms that it has resolved to make the following local laws, which will come into effect on Saturday, 11 April 2026.
Shire of Gingin Cats Amendment Local Law 2026
Purpose - To amend the Shire of Gingin Cats Local Law 2025.
Effect - To correct drafting errors and inconsistencies identified by the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation.
Shire of Gingin Control of Vehicles (Off-road Areas) Amendment Local Law 2026
Purpose - To amend the Shire of Gingin Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law 2004 to allow for a greater role for authorised persons, to correct matters where previous amendments have been ineffective, to delete irrelevant requirements and to replace the prescribed penalties.
Effect - To revoke outdated requirements, improve administration and functioning of the local law and amend the penalties for non-compliance.
Shire of Gingin Parking and Parking Facilities Amendment Local Law 2026
Purpose - To amend the Shire of Gingin Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law 2004 in accordance with the undertaking given to the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation by Council at its Ordinary Council Meeting on 15 July 2025.
Effect - To amend the definition of ‘permissive parking’ in cl. 1.3, replace cl. 3.4 Event Parking and insert a new Item 2 into Schedule 2 Prescribed Offences.
