The Shire of Gingin will be undertaking important bushfire mitigation works in October along a 6km stretch of the Lancelin Road reserve. The mitigation works include installation of a 40-metre-wide mulched area to create a low fuel buffer zone.
The low fuel zone is designed to slow the spread of bushfire by reducing the fuel load. This work is part of a broader bushfire risk reduction program designed to keep our community safe.
These works are scheduled to commence at the end of October and are expected to take one week to complete, you will notice tractors with slashing/mulching equipment over this period and weed spraying will follow.
