The Shire of Gingin and local volunteer bush
fire brigades will be conducting a prescribed fuel reduction burn on Boonanarring Road, Boonanarring today, Thursday 16 October.
Whilst some inconvenience can be expected due to the associated smoke, the protection of our community from the threat of bushfire is essential.
The prescribed burn will be conducted under a prevailing southerly breeze, and it is anticipated that there will be minimal impact to the Brand Highway and Boonanarring Road, travellers are reminded to remain alert and drive to the conditions. Due to the southerly breeze, there may be some smoke in and around the Gingin townsite this afternoon.
If you have any concerns relating to effects of smoke, it is recommended you keep windows closed and remain indoors for the duration of this period.
If you have any questions please contact the Shire of Gingin Bushfire Risk Mitigation Coordinator, Chantal Bell on 0488 666 905.
