Proposed Development Application - Change of Use (Caretaker's Dwelling & Reception Centre)

Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015

The Shire of Gingin invites comments in relation to a development application for Lot 201 (3550) Brand Highway, Ginginup. The proposal consists of the following:

  • The proposal seeks approval to allow a Caretaker’s Dwelling and Reception Centre.
  • The Caretaker’s Dwelling will be applied to an existing transportable unit located in the northern portion of the property to accommodate an onsite manager.
  • The Reception Centre relates to the landscaped grounds of the southern portion of the property as an outdoors venue for hire to host private events e.g. wedding ceremonies and receptions. Portable facilities will be used e.g. marquees, catering and ablution facilities and will be removed after each event. The maximum number of patrons is proposed at 150. Operating days are proposed for seven days a week.

Alternatively, to view the proposal in hard copy, please attend the Shire of Gingin Administration Centre, located at 7 Brockman Street, Gingin or the Lancelin Office, 255 Vins Way, Lancelin during office hours.

Submissions must:

  • be made in writing
  • state the name and address of the person making the submission, and
  • include a statement about the capacity in which the person makes the submission.

Comments on the proposal are to be submitted to the Acting Chief Executive Officer either by post to the Shire of Gingin, PO Box 510, Gingin WA 6503 or by email to mail@gingin.wa.gov.au on or before 4.00pm on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.
