The Shire of Gingin wishes to advise the community that Chief Executive Officer, Mr Scott Wildgoose, has resigned from his position with the Shire of Gingin, effective immediately (22 May 2026).
Council has accepted Mr Wildgoose’s resignation.
Mr Wildgoose has been on leave while a workplace investigation was progressed by an independent consultant. The workplace investigation process was managed independently and in accordance with the Shire’s governance and employment obligations. As the matter relates to employment matters, there are legal and privacy requirements that limit what can be publicly shared.
The Shire acknowledges that there will be community interest and discussion regarding this matter, and we encourage the community to be respectful and considerate for the wellbeing of staff and Council during this period.
The Shire recognises situations like this can impact community confidence. The administration has continued to operate business as usual and deliver services, projects and support to the community across all areas of the organisation.
James Bayliss will continue in the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer to ensure continuity and provide stable leadership to the organisation.
The Shire will not be providing further comment on this matter.
