Please be advised, a Storm Advice has been placed and is due to impact the Shire of Gingin tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. Heavy rainfall, flash flooding and possible isolated damaging winds is expected.
The Shire will continue to monitor conditions, and we are aware flash flooding throughout our road network may occur.
If travelling, please drive to the road conditions, be respectful of other road users and seek alternatives routes if flash flooding is present. Please avoid driving heavy vehicles on unsealed roads as it can severely damage the road in these conditions.
At 11:21 on 18 August 2025 the Bureau of Meteorology advised a cold front bringing windy conditions and triggering strong showers and thunderstorms will move through the southwest of the state on Tuesday.
Strong northwesterly winds with isolated DAMAGING GUSTS of around 100 km/h are likely along the west coast and adjacent inland areas from early Tuesday, mostly associated with fast moving lines or clusters of showers and thunderstorms. Winds are expected to ease later on Tuesday.
Localised HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely over the South West and Lower West districts from early Tuesday morning. Isolated six-hourly rainfall totals between 40 and 60 mm are likely. Higher totals are possible in slower-moving thunderstorms.
