The Shire of Gingin would like to inform the Lancelin community of upcoming changes to local FM radio frequencies.
The FM radio transmitters servicing Lancelin will be changing frequency to allow the ABC to commence FM transmission in the Perth metropolitan area.
What are the changes?
The following stations will be moving to new frequencies:
From 103.9 FM to 104.5 FM
From 102.3 FM to 102.9 FM
Important Dates
Test transmissions begin on the new frequencies using a pre-recorded program.
A full simulcast begins, meaning that both the old and new frequencies will broadcast the same programs at the same time.
From this date, residents are encouraged to start retuning their radios to the new frequencies:
6SAT → 104.5 FM
6FMS → 102.9 FM
The old frequencies will be permanently switched off:
From this date, all radios must be tuned to the new frequencies to continue receiving broadcasts.
What do residents need to do?
Retune your radio anytime from 5 January. Make sure your radio is tuned to:
104.5 FM (6SAT)
102.9 FM (6FMS)
