Works to replace Bridge 661 over the Gingin Brook on Weld Street will begin after the Easter Long Weekend and are scheduled for completion towards the end of 2026.
Main Roads are managing the project and have contracted Fulton Hogan to do the bridge works.
Additionally, there is an upcoming power outage affecting parts of the Gingin townsite due to Western Power works on this project on Tuesday 31 March from 7:30am to 3:00pm.
During the works :
- There will be a single lane closure on the bridge which will cause minor delays. Traffic lights will be manually managed by a Traffic Controller.
- The rest area to the south of the bridge will be partially closed. There will be no restrictions to the access of CU@Park Café.
- The footpaths on both sides of the bridge will be closed for the duration of the project. However, the footpath near the weir will remain open to ensure continued public access.
- Construction noise and dust will be generated throughout the duration of the works.
Please be assured that Main Roads and Fulton Hogan will do everything possible to minimise impacts.
