Off the back of becoming film-friendly accredited late last year, the Shire of Gingin is thrilled to welcome WA’s very first Netflix production to our beautiful Shire!
Award winning British film and television production company Clerkenwell Films in association with American media company and streaming service Netflix have chosen locations throughout the Shire of Gingin to film for their upcoming drama television series ‘Breakers’.
“Breakers follows two best friends from the U.S. who go backpacking in Australia and are soon drawn into a seemingly perfect community of surfers led by a charismatic but mysterious figure, Brando, played by Antony Starr.”
Filming will commence on Monday 20 April for the week at various locations throughout the Shire including Bennies Road, K.W. Road, the Lancelin Sand Dunes and along Guilderton Road with filming expected to wrap up on Saturday 25 April.
To assist with the project, traffic management will be in place at some of these locations - there will be a temporary and short-term road closure on Bennies Road with access for local residents only, and some stop/slow traffic control on K.W. Road.
The Australian film industry relies tremendously on the assistance of the local community and the support and understanding from community is very much appreciated.
The Shire of Gingin is proud to be assisting Clerkenwell Films and Netflix with their production, and we are excited to continue working towards being recognised as a Film-Friendly Shire.
